Edgar Hoover, the G-man whose PR skills, political opportunism, and instinct for personal survival outstripped any of his alleged crime-fighting abilities, had called her “the most dangerous woman in America.” Fifty years later, still at the helm of the vast criminal enterprise he’d created, J. Edgar Hoover bestowed that same honor on my partner Bernardine Dohrn—the most dangerous woman in America.
