EMERGENCY!!! Suspend the Debates!

And if that sounds remotely reasonable, think of it as a dress rehearsal, a practice run, a prelude:

EMERGENCY!!! Suspend the Elections!

I can’t believe some of the things I’ve been reading. I’m outraged!…and I am a Christian. This is for those so-called Christians who feel they should threaten this person. Who do you think YOU are? Do you really think God has told you that spitting on and hoping that he (…and his family) die by a nail bombs, was something that you were required to do for Him? You are so mistaken. Yes, we all need Jesus, but the way you talk, I think you may be headed for that hot and fiery pit faster than anyone else! Such hypocrites! Do you not remember the letters to the churches about hypocrites?

Quit scorning others, you need to look at yourselves. You who voted in (twice) a man who doesn’t even believe in Christ, a member of the Skull and Bones, who made a war we did not have any reason to be in, who lies on the daily. You follow him with no regard…It will and has been so easy to decieve you. You are in that large number of the apostasy. YOU will be the one to follow the antichrist. Why do you not see the truth!?! Wake up!!

Wow, the internet racists are coming out of the closet eh? Talk about being unamerican, the irony is not lost to the rest of us critical thinkers.

Terrorism is attacking and striking fear into the civilian populace. From my understanding, Weatherman did not do that nor did they intend to. Their targets were always physical structures of the State who at that time was in fact the ‘the biggest purveyor of violence’ in the world.

I too remember the Vietnam war and protests, Kent State, the despair, the anger and helplessness of the 60’s and 70’s. I am appalled and angered by the spewing of hate on this blog and many others of late thanks to McCain and Palin, Fox News, Sean Hannity and others. I suspect most of the hate comes from those too young to know anything about what was happening 40 years ago. It sounds to be you are well respected in your field and have done good work and you don’t deserve the bashing. Defamation of your character by those inciting hate surely fits here. Those of you who are writing such hateful words make you “terrorists” that you fear.

Good luck to you Mr. Ayers and stay well.

  4. Hello Bill,

I, like many who have posted here, have found you due to the associations that the McCain/Palin campaign has drawn between you and Senator Obama. At first I felt I needed to post here in your defense, but it seems that is now unnecessary. Then I felt I should post if only to be close to the fire, but that seems uncouth. I’ve read through this thread twice and realized that most of the responses here have nothing to do with what you’ve said in your post. These comments are simply filler. Albeit, filler in vast range, from eloquent endearments to downright nastiness, it is still filler. I then realized the importance of what you’ve said in your post about Senator McCain.

I feel that it is unkind for you to say what you have said about McCain, and that if we are to learn anything from your history, the rages it has incited and the audacity of it’s hopefulness, it is that we must continue to learn. I am not saying that your post is not funny and perhaps prophetic, just that when the lines are being drawn between those who cant character flaws in lieu of substance and those who seek a better way, I would rather see you cast in the latter. This is most important to remember in the fire.

I hope I haven’t offended you and I wish you well.

I, for one, am glad to see so many right-wingers posting their bile and hatred here. When you contrast them with the well-spoken replies from the left, it paints a perfect picture of the difference between the two sides.

One side thinks, the other side spits. One look at the Republican campaign for President proves it.

Open your eyes, right-wingers. Your guys squandered their chance. During this decade, the Republicans have had the majority of control over the Federal Government. They had the chance to show us all how it’s done, and look where we are. To vote for John McCain is to beg for more failure.

Isn’t it funny how right wing Fascists hate countries that are more conservative than them but they also hate people who are more liberal then them.

Right Wing Fascist Amerika = Hate, Bigotry and Racism

  7. I remember the sixties and all of the turmoil that our Country was subject to. If the Draft was re-inacted you would be sure to see it all happen, all over again. Many people did wrongful acts in protest, and now are admirable citizens who have been forgiven and have paid their dues.
It has always puzzled me thar the more religious someone is, the more hateful and judgmental they become. What ever happened to forgiveness and compassion? Is that not the American way anymore?
The only thing I would like to see would be for Mr. Ayers to come out, do an interview and let the truth be told. That would put a stop to all of this nonsense.

Hang in there, Bill. I’m a Vietnam Veteran and support everything you’ve done since the end of the Vietnam war.

Don’t let these chickenshit Keyboard Rangers get to you. Most are cowards and could not withstand the light of day breaking into their mother’s basements while they type their hate…..

  9. Elizabeth says:

    Mr. Ayers,

I am sorry that you have been dragged into something without your consent and are being smeared for your worst actions, which pale in comparison to those of others, instead of commended for your best, which shine compared to any of most who criticize you. I always thought that in America we believed in second chances. I still like to think there are more people that know you are not a “terrorist” and that you’ve dedicated your life to making America a better place.

  10. Anney says:

I’m sorry, did I miss the part in the Bible where Jesus said, “Hate your enemies, honor the United States of America above all else?” I challenge these slanderers, who deem themselves as “God loving Americans” to remember that Jesus said, in fact, “Love your enemies as you love yourself.” He must of meant only white enemies.

Oh my God! The vitriol is amazing. Do any of the authors of these hateful emails actually think that Jesus would support that kind of insulence? Can you imagine Jesus coming down and standing by someone- and blessing them- as they slander one of God’s children?
