    Professor,

Every time I see your name in the news, I think of how cool it is that somebody of your importance visited my 104 discussion to share your knowledge and opinions. I know that you talking to my class influenced me and them in a way that was definitely positive. At any rate, everyone back at school knows how good of a professor you are, and I hope you will be back in time from your leave in order for me to take some of your ED classes.

While I did not agree with people such as yourself in the 60’s and 70’s, although I was not agreement with the war either, I have matured considerably both literally and politically. I commend you for your life since the WU and wish you the best.
Don’t let the bastards get you down.

A concerned, enlightened and reformed conservative.

    Bill,

I was in SDS back in the day, but basically dropped out when the split came over the horizon in 1969. I then worked with Rising Up Angry in Chicago in the early ’70s. While I didn’t agree with Weather Underground’s tactics, and didn’t know you or Bernardine, I always considered all of you patriots, and the word “terrorist” never occurred to me at the time. I read your first book when it came out in paperback and thought it was moving. I trust you understand there are many of us who are angry about the way your work and life have been framed, and not just because we support Barrack Obama, but because we know what your ideological and moral commitments are. I, at any rate, share, them. I hope you are your family weather this storm (pun intended). I hope after the election you write about these efforts by the Republican hate machine to reframe Obama and the anti-war movement, both then and now.

    Hey Billy,

Looks like you’re staying home you piece of anti-American crap. Nice to see the good folks in Nebraska still have come common sense.

    Ayers,

I challenge you to meet me and lets ‘discuss’ your future chances of continuing to live in the U.S. I will ‘convince’ you to leave.

I am not an educator nor have I read any of your books. I came to your site to learn more about who you are since you have developed so many enemies amongst Americans due to the McCain campaign. What has been said about you and shouted is appalling. Based upon the testimony of your many supporters and fans, I would be happy to pal around with you! I’m sure that I would learn so much! I hope that after this election is over the general public forgets about you so you can continue your good work uninhibited.

    Ayers,
When the revoution starts, I do hope that first blast blows you sky high!

  8. Rebecca says:

I just now watched a clip of McCain on Letterman, once again stating that you said you “wished you had bombed more.” This is slander and terribly denigrating to your reputation, and I’ll pass along a suggestion by my boyfriend – you should sue him! Seriously, just because you’re an intellectual doesn’t have to mean you let people walk all over you, are you going to take this lying down? You deserve a lot more respect than this.

  9. Ron Mcmaster says:

Did you really receive a ring made from the metal of US fighter jets as a token of the North Vietnamese peoples esteem? Forgive me if I am just repeating slurs and innuendos. I’m really just trying to sort out fact from fiction. Did you really say after 911 that you should have done more? I don’t want to repeat slurs or falsehoods and I actually do wonder if you are just being demonized by the right.

    Respectfully,

    Ron McMaster

  10. Jenny says:

Unrelated, but my boyfriend and I were talking about how McCain is misconstruing your comments in the NYT on 9/11 as if you said them that day in response to the bombings. We think you could win if you sued the McCain campaign for libel.
